There might not be a team in the NFL dealing with more injury issues than the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2026 NFL season through six weeks.
As the team prepares for Week 7 against the Dallas Cowboys, their injury report consists of nearly half of the 53-man roster. That includes DeVonta Smith, the team's No. 1 wide receiver after the offseason A.J. Brown trade.
When he's played, he's been great. Unfortunately for the Eagles, the Week 7 update for their Cowboys matchup isn't very good. According to Jeff McLane of The Inquirer, Smith's very much in question for Week 7, and he isn't the only WR questionable either.
DeVonta Smith's odds to play in Week 7 aren't looking good
"Sense I got as of yesterday was that DeVonta Smith and Tay Wicks were going to be down this week, but there was optimism that Dallas Goedert could go. Several days to go here," McLane shared.
While this isn't a confirmation that Smith, Dallas Goedert, or Dontayvion Wicks are going to miss or play in Week 7, it certainly doesn't bode well for at least both of these WRs.
Facing a bad Cowboys defense, the Eagles might be without their top two wide receivers. Makai Lemon and Darius Cooper would be next in line in this offense, with Goedert and a few other tight ends likely being involved.

While the Eagles got some good news recently with Saquon Barkley returning to practice, this update on Smith and Wicks is a bad sign for their statuses for Week 7.
For as bad as things have gone for the Eagles this season, if they were to rattle off a couple of wins these next couple of weeks, they could actually be in decent shape to make a playoff spot.
But Tanner McKee might not have his top two WRs, and his tight end isn't a lock to play this week either. All three could end up going, but this report and their non-participation at practice are certainly worth worrying about.
