The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, but the score was 24-20, so it was anything but a blowout. Jalen Hurts and the crew are 2-0 for the season, but if they want to go all the way, and they do, it's becoming apparent they need to step it up a bit.
The Eagles also need their players healthy, and unfortunately, they're dealing with a new injury. During the game, tight end Dallas Goedert was injured, and now, there's more information about that injury.
According to Ian Rapoport of ESPN and the NFL Network, tests have revealed that Goedert suffered a sprained MCL during the game. That's not a simple or super-quick fix.
Dallas Goedert expected to miss a few weeks with MCL sprain
Goedert is "expected to miss a few weeks," according to Rapoport and fellow NFL insider Adam Schefter.
According to Mass General Brigham, "MCL injury is a mild sprain that can be caused by direct trauma to the knee, and is a common sports injury."
How long it will take to heal depends on the severity of the injury. According to the Cleveland Clinic, a "grade 1 (mild) MCL tear usually heals within one to three weeks." A more severe injury can take longer than six weeks, which would not be good.
So, the Eagles will be without their sturdy tight end for "a few weeks," which is rough, but injuries happen. What's difficult, though, is that the team's next game is a doozie: playing the Chicago Bears on the road on "Monday Night Football" on Sept. 28. Bears quarterback Caleb Williams was injured on Sunday, too, but he may be healthy again in time for this NFC matchup.
