Eagles fans serenade Saquon Barkley, shade Giants after another MVP performance

2 hours ago 1

The Philadelphia Eagles are rolling, pummeling opponents behind a dominant rushing attack while tormenting opposing quarterbacks with the hottest defense in the NFL.

The leader of Philly’s run game — aside from arguably the league’s best offensive line — is Saquon Barkley, who played the role of closer in Thursday night’s 26-18 win over the Washington Commanders at the Linc. Barkley had rushing scores of 23 and 39 yards in the fourth quarter, and finished the night with over 100 yards for the sixth time in 10 games.

Barkley joined the TNF broadcast crew after the game, and was serenaded by Eagles fans in quintessential Philly fashion:

"Thank you, Giants."

Eagles fans won’t stop trolling the Giants over Barkley any time soon, not with their new superstar running back doing special things by the week while New York sits at the bottom of the NFC East with a 2-8 record. Barkley now has 1,137 rushing yards on the season; the Giants have 1,199 as an entire team.

The “Thank you Giants!” chants went on for a while before switching to “MVP!” Barkley could stay in that discussion if the Eagles keep running the football at their current clip. They’re averaging 199.6 yards and 2.2 touchdowns per game as a team over their current six-game win streak.
