The story of the Philadelphia Eagles' 2026 season so far? It's been the massive list of injuries this team has dealt with. Their injury reports leading up to Week 6 have been extensive, featuring 20-plus players.
While players like Saquon Barkley, Jalen Hurts, Jalyx Hunt, and Will Shipley are going to miss time, and there's been plenty of bad injury news going around, the Eagles did get one important piece of good news this week.
The Eagles' injury report on Friday revealed that DeVonta Smith was a full participant on Friday, and that he doesn't carry any status into the weekend, indicating he'll suit up this weekend against the Carolina Panthers in Week 6.
Eagles finally get some good injury news amid DeVonta Smith update
On the Eagles' lengthy injury report, Smith was listed among the full participants on the roster, receiving no designation for Week 6 despite dealing with hamstring and toe injuries.
He did previously indicate he was feeling good, but seeing the official injury report note that he's good to go this week is a huge sigh of relief.
The Eagles won't have Hurts this week as he deals with a scary superficial blood clot issue, leaving Tanner McKee as the team's starting quarterback.

He's more of a pocket passer and isn't as mobile as Hurts. With Barkley, Shipley, and Tank Bigsby all out as well, the Eagles are going to have to lean on the passing game against a leaky Panthers defense.
Fortunately for McKee, he'll have the Eagles' full receiving corps at his disposal. Dallas Goedert, Smith, Dontayvion Wicks, Makai Lemon, and Darius Cooper are all good to go for Week 6 against the Panthers.
Seeing Smith cleared to play this weekend is finally some good news amid a sea of terrible updates and worrying news on the Eagles' players from the last two weeks.
Between Lane Johnson retiring, Hurts' injury issue, Cam Jurgens' trade, and the lengthy injury reports, things have been bleak. But at least for this weekend's matchup, Smith is back in the fold.
