Eagles $84M star predicted to land overdue All-Pro nod thanks to stunning advanced stat

Just how stacked was the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl championship roster in 2024?

For starters, the Eagles lost some high-end veteran talent this offseason, including EDGE rusher Josh Sweat, CB Darius Slay Jr. and safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson. Philadelphia will still bring back six All-Pros from last year’s squad, along with a wealth of young talent ready to continue (or step into) prominent roles.

Philly’s All-Pro selections included two first-teamers in RB Saquon Barkley and LB Zack Baun. Four others — WR A.J. Brown, LT Jordan Mailata, RT Lane Johnson and DT Jalen Carter — were named to the second team, and you could argue the Eagles have another three-plus players poised to make a leap this year with training camp now just around the corner.

Josh Edwards of CBS Sports recently identified one Eagles star who’s long overdue for an All-Pro nod. Using testing data and advanced analytics, Edwards predicted one NFL player for each position who will rise to the All-Pro distinction in 2025, and Landon Dickerson, Philly’s stud left guard, was among the ascending stars he profiled.

One advanced statistic in particular jumped off the page in Edwards’ write-up on Dickerson:

According to TruMedia, Dickerson has been beaten on 1.9% of pass blocking repetitions, which is fifth among all offensive linemen with at least 1,500 pass blocking snaps since 2021The four players above him — Creed Humphrey (Chiefs), Joe Thuney (Bears), Jason Kelce (Eagles) and Lane Johnson (Eagles) — have all been named an All-Pro. 

You could make a similar case for several rising Eagles players, like center Cam Jurgens, cornerbacks Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean, and EDGE Nolan Smith Jr. 

Dickerson’s entering his fifth season as a pro and signed a four-year, $84 million extension with the Eagles in May of last year. Pro Football Focus charged Dickerson for five sacks allowed in 2024, but he allowed zero sacks and just five total pressures in the playoffs, and that included him starting at center for Jurgens NFC Championship Game and playing at less than 100 percent in the Super Bowl.

The NFL is currently rolling out its Top 100 Players of 2025 poll, and Dickerson will most likely land among the top snubs. That would change with All-Pro recognition, and it’s not a stretch for Philly to have four All-Pros — Mailata, Johnson, Dickerson and Jurgens —on its offensive line alone by the end of this upcoming season.
