Dwyane Wade debuts new look, wife Gabrielle Union responds

Dwyane Wade is ending his summer with a fresh new look. 

The three-time NBA champion went viral for sharing that he shaved off his beard. In the photo, the NBA legend wore a white T-shirt and a snapback worn backwards. 

"How many years did I take off!? The Beard needed a break!" Wade captioned the selfie he posted on Instagram on Sunday, Aug. 23. 

Fans were shocked by Wade's new look, with several fans taking to the comment section to share their thoughts. 

"They gone think you had plastic surgery bro lol," one fan wrote.

Another fan got him confused with a singer and reality TV personality: "Word to my brother. I thought that was RAY J or Kirk Frost."

"They Cloned (Dwyane) Tyrone," another fan wrote, referencing the Netflix film starring John Boyega. 

Gabrielle Union responds to Dwyane Wade's new look

While some fans were teasing Wade for his new look, he made sure that he shared the approval of his wife, Gabrielle Union. 

In a screenshot of the former NBA star's Instagram Story on Sunday, Hollywood Unlocked shared a photo of Union kissing Wade on the cheek. He wrote on the photo, "She likes it..."

Wade and Union have been married for nearly 12 years. The couple will celebrate their 13th anniversary on August 30. The pair have one daughter, Kaavia, together, and Wade has three children from previous relationships, along with legal guardianship of his nephew Dahveon. He shares Zaire and Zaya Wade with his ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches, and his son Xavier with Aja Metoyer.

The former NBA star retired from the league in 2019 after 16 seasons. Last month, he was honored in his hometown of Robbins, Illinois, when South Claire Boulevard was permanently renamed Dwyane Wade Boulevard.
