Dustin Rhodes has been absent from AEW due to a knee injury as of late. Following his brutal Street Fight with Kyle Fletcher at the end of July, The Natural had to undergo a double-knee replacement surgery this August. But recently, the former WWE star made a special request to Tony Khan following this week's Blood & Guts show.

This week, AEW presented its annual Blood & Guts show on Dynamite. It featured two spectacular matches in the double-caged structure, where all the top stars of the company gave their all to put on a show. Rhodes posted a picture of himself enjoying the event, to which Tony Khan responded with a special message. He said that he is missing The Natural amid his AEW absence.

While responding to Khan's message, Rhodes requested to be put in the Blood & Guts structure next year. The former TNT Champion hinted that he wants to recreate the iconic 1992 era in professional wrestling with his potential performance in the steel structure in 2026.

"Same! Next yr, put me in this, let me go first. 92' era feels!!" he wrote

Dustin Rhodes gives a major update on his injury status

Dustin Rhodes has been out of All Elite Wrestling since July this year. It was a special year for The Natural where he won the TNT Championship in Texas at All In. Fans had high expectations that perhaps it could lead to something major for Rhodes in his twilight years. However, his injury has put him on the shelf for the foreseeable future.

Taking to X, a fan asked the 56-year-old star about the condition of his knee. Rhodes replied, saying that it still hurt even after the surgery. However, he mentioned that March could be the time when he is most likely to be clear for action again.

"They still hurt a bit, especially in the mornings. I do have a good ways to go. Remember I am 56 and pushing hard, just takes time. Not young anymore. Prob March I should be ready to kill everyone lol. Maybe, I am pushing hard my man." he wrote
