The Elite Eight wraps up on Sunday, March 28. The second of two games on the slate will feature the No. 1 Duke Blue Devils taking on the No. 2 UConn Huskies.
The Blue Devils earned the No. 1 overall seed in the 2026 NCAA Tournament. Duke had a scare in the opening round as No. 16 Siena had upset on the mind, but the Blue Devils survived 71-65. The Blue Devils beat No. 9 TCU 81-58 in the second round, but that game was still close at halftime.
Duke matched up with No. 5 St. John's in the Sweet Sixteen. The Blue Devils were neck-and-neck with the Red Storm all game, but held on for the 80-75 win to make the Elite Eight for the third consecutive year.
The Huskies may have been looking past No. 15 Furman in the first round and had to lock in late to escape with the nine-point victory. UConn took care of business in the second round, beating No. 7 UCLA 73-57. The Huskies then faced No. 3 Michigan State in the Sweet Sixteen. UConn held on just long enough for the 67-63 victory to get back to the Elite Eight for the first time since winning the 2024 national championship.
