No Sweet 16 matchup has as much intrigue as Duke vs. St. John's in the East region.
The Blue Devils are the overall No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament and enter the game after two tests against Siena and TCU. However, Duke ended the last game against the Horned Frogs on a strong note, and now had four days to regroup ahead of a pivotal weekend in WAshington D.C.
Duke's key will be the health of Caleb Foster and Patrick Ngongba, who have been dealing with injuries in the past few weeks. Foster hasn't played since the final game of the regular season against North Carolina, while Ngongba played 13 minutes against TCU after missing a total of 19 days.
On the other side, St. John's is in the Sweet 16 for the first time since 1999 thanks to head coach Rick Pitino, who is in this round for the 14th time in his career. The Red Storm are here after a fierce battle with Kansas, which ended with a Dylan Darling buzzer-beater to knock off the Jayhawks.
For St. John's to pull off the upset, it will need a big performance from star forward Zuby Ejiofor, who won the Big East player of the year this season. St. John's hasn't been to an Elite Eight since that 1999 season, and hasn't appeared in a Final Four since 1985.
This game will feature the oldest coach left in the field against the youngest, as Pitino and Jon Scheyer have much different paths to this game.
