Duke star Cooper Flagg turns heads with Tyrese Haliburton statement

Duke Blue Devils standout Cooper Flagg will soon join the NBA. He is expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming 2025 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks, who won the top pick despite only having a 1.8 percent chance of doing so in the lottery.

Flagg has the talent and potential to become a generational type of player. If he reaches his ceiling, Flagg is going to be incredibly special at the next level.

Ahead of the draft, Flagg has been asked a lot of questions. Recently, one of the questions posed to him was about who the most underrated player currently playing in the NBA is and he had a head-turning answer.

Right now, Flagg believes that Indiana Pacers star point guard Tyrese Haliburton is the most underrated in the league.

"I would say Tyrese Haliburton, because people hate him and call him overrated all the time, and say he’s not that good—but he’s just such a good basketball player," Flagg said.

What makes that opinion even more interesting is that Haliburton was recently voted by players as the most overrated player in the NBA.

Despite the overrated vote, Haliburton has led his Pacers to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second consecutive year. He is also arguably the best pure point guard in the league.

Soon, Flagg will be playing against Haliburton and Indiana. He's ready for the moment and he's exactly what Dallas needed after trading Luka Doncic away to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Only time will tell whether or not he can live up to the hype, but landing with the Mavericks is a great scenario for him to begin his professional career.
