Kager is up next, and he's a rising star in the high school ranks at Wisconsin Lutheran.
According to Wisconsin Basketball Yearbrook's Mark Miller, Kager has picked up a big-time Division I scholarship offer, too: Purdue.
Junior wing Kager Knueppel (6-9) of Wisconsin Lutheran has picked up a scholarship offer from Purdue coach Matt Painter.
— Mark Miller (@WisBBYearbook) January 31, 2026As Miller notes, Kager is 6-foot-9, already taller than his older brother.
He's currently a 4-star recruit in the 247 Composite Rankings, 83rd nationally among the Class of 2027.

Before this, Kager was listed as having scholarship offers from DePaul and Toledo. Kager is actually the nephew of Toledo head coach Tod Kowalczyk.
The offer from Purdue, which spent a portion of this college basketball season ranked No. 1 in the country, could open the floodgates for Kager. It often only takes one powerhouse scholarship offer to bring in a lot of the other big-name programs, too.
Kager will surely make the most of whatever chance he gets. He's got a great role model to follow.
