The driver killed when his tractor-trailer cab plunged off the Delaware Memorial Bridge was a married dad from Brooklyn.

Zair Murzakov, 35, died when the vehicle he was driving crossed three lanes and crashed through a concrete wall at around 3:40 a.m. on Friday, plunging more than 170 feet into the Delaware River below, the Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) said.

Murzakov was traveling from New Jersey into Delaware when he suddenly crossed three lanes and hit the concrete wall, officials said, as the exact circumstances are still being investigated.

A fundraiser has already collected more than $17,000 to pay for Murzakov’s body to be shipped back to his homeland, without detailing where that is.

His family’s “greatest wish is to bring their loved one back to his homeland and lay him to rest with dignity and tradition,” the fundraiser states of the married father.

The cab had no trailer attached at the time and was registered in West Chester Township, Ohio, Delaware Public Media reported.

Water and tide conditions meant that Murzakov’s body and the trailer weren’t recovered until shortly after 11 a.m. on Saturday, some 20 feet below the water, the DRBA said.

A crane and barge from the Bridge Ship Collision Protection construction project provided support to the Delaware State Police Marine dive unit, Holloway Terrace Fire Company, and other recovery groups.
