Dream's Angel Reese taken down in flagrant fashion by Brittney Griner

Angel Reese works hard to chase after rebounds, and that can be tough for opponents to deal with.

It cost Brittney Griner in one particularly physical moment during the Atlanta Dream's win over the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday night.

Reese was working to use a swim move and get around Griner toward the basket.

Griner had her arms wrapped around Reese, and she essentially clotheslined her with a left arm in Reese's neck area.

Reese went down and looked up as if to say, 'What was that?'

The officials reviewed the play and called it a Flagrant 1 foul:

Reese got the last laugh. The Dream won 91-75 to improve to 6-2, while the Sun are now 2-9.

Reese had 12 points on 4-for-9 shooting (1-2 3FG) with 13 rebounds and 5 assists.

Griner, on the downslope of her career, had seven points (3-8 FG) and four rebounds with three assists. She did block three shots and have two steals.

It's hard to know intent on a play like this, but the reality is that Reese's hard-working nature on the glass set Griner up to be in a bad spot by the moment the flagrant foul occurred.

It definitely looked like it might hurt a bit, but it won't stop Reese from continuing to chase after the basketball with all she's got.
