Angel Reese has added another rebounding record to her rapidly expanding WNBA résumé. The Atlanta Dream star grabbed 15 rebounds in Thursday’s dominant 104-69 victory over the Connecticut Sun, giving her 384 for the season. That moved Reese past Tina Charles for the most rebounds by a Dream player in a single season.
Charles established the previous franchise record with 374 rebounds in 2024. Atlanta celebrated Reese’s accomplishment on social media by giving its three-time All-Star a nickname perfectly suited to her relentless work around the basket.
“Queen of the Board Room,” the Dream wrote. “Angel Reese has set a new record for Most Rebounds in a Single Dream Season! Let’s go, Angel!”
Angel Reese controls game without double-double
Reese did not record one of her customary double-doubles against Connecticut, finishing with eight points. Still, she influenced nearly every part of the Dream’s blowout victory. In addition to her 15 rebounds, Reese recorded four blocks and three steals. Her defensive production helped Atlanta overwhelm a Sun team led by former Dream center Brittney Griner.
One second-quarter sequence captured Reese’s impact. She blocked Griner twice and stripped the veteran center during the same possession, refusing to concede anything around the basket. It was the type of relentless effort that has defined Reese since she entered the league.
Reese’s rebounding ability has never been in doubt. She set the WNBA’s single-season rebounding record as a rookie with the Chicago Sky in 2024, collecting 446 boards despite appearing in only 34 games.
Her production has followed her to Atlanta. Reese entered Thursday’s game needing six rebounds to break Charles’ franchise mark. She cleared that number comfortably and now has an opportunity to push the record well beyond 400 before the regular season concludes.

Dream continue celebrating Reese’s historic season
“Queen of the Board Room” is not the first new nickname Atlanta has introduced for Reese.
The Dream recently called her the “Double-Diva” after she recorded her 22nd double-double of the season against the Toronto Tempo. That performance moved her into Atlanta’s single-season record book in another category. The nicknames might be playful, but they reflect the serious impact Reese has made since joining the organization.
Reese has given Atlanta a dominant rebounder, an energetic defender and another player capable of drawing considerable attention to the franchise. Her arrival also has helped the Dream build one of the WNBA’s most imposing frontcourts. The 35-point victory over Connecticut showed how dangerous Atlanta can be when Reese affects the game on both ends. She did not need a big scoring total to take control, instead dominating the glass and protecting the rim.
Individual records are beginning to pile up for Reese, but Thursday’s milestone carried additional significance because it came during a convincing team victory. At only 24 years old, Reese already has established herself as one of the greatest rebounders in WNBA history. She now owns Atlanta’s single-season record with time remaining to make it considerably more difficult for anyone to catch her.
The Dream might need to keep their nickname department busy. If Reese continues producing at this rate, “Queen of the Board Room” probably will not be the final title she earns this season.
