The 49ers are reaching back to their past to fill a big defensive need.
The club is in agreement with linebacker Dre Greenlaw on a contract worth $7.5 million for one season.

The 28-year-old Greenlaw played just eight games last year, with injuries sidelining him for eight games and sitting out another while serving a suspension.
In six seasons with the 49ers, Greenlaw had 455 tackles and 3.5 sacks and 14 pass breakups.
