Draymond Green questions the Lakers' defense as they look to compete for a championship

The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the hottest teams in the league right now, especially with their latest win against the Miami Heat. Luka Doncic was the star of the show during that game, as he scored a game-high 60 points.

It was one of the most impressive performances of the season, which continued the Lakers' ascent up the championship contender ladder. They are now being seen as one of the Western Conference's top dogs, and they are now getting deep dives.

Green questions the Lakers' defense in title pursuit

As one of the most successful players in modern NBA history, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green knows what it takes to win. The former Defensive Player of the Year also knows the value of having a solid defense.

He is also one of the most respected defenders in NBA history, and as the adage goes, defense wins championships. Green has some doubts regarding the Lakers' chances of contending because they might have some issues on defense.

Since the Lakers have a fantastic roster headlined by Doncic and LeBron James, they will always have a strong offensive system. However, the Lakers might have trouble defending opponents during the Playoffs.

"You ask yourself how dangerous can they be during the Playoffs, apart of me wants to say not very dangerous at all, but the other side of me knows better. You got Luka Doncic and LeBron James on the court at the same time," Green said on his podcast.

"You have a chance always against anyone. Teams that will put pressure on them, that will make it tough on them in the Playoffs, is making them guard. Not a good defensive team at all."

It is a good and honest assessment of the Lakers. Everyone knows they can out-score and beat any team on their talent alone. However, postseason basketball has evolved past out-talenting opponents.
