Two drivers were were hauled off to jail Thursday after Florida deputies clocked them at 101 mph near an active school zone, authorities said.

The pair — one behind the wheel of a Ford Mustang and the other driving a Volkswagen — were clocked at 101 mph in a 55 mph zone on Powell Road east of Spring Parkway, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.

A school crossing guard told deputies they had to hold back children waiting to cross because of the speeding cars, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies caught up with both vehicles and managed to stop them inside the school zone before anyone was hurt, according to the sheriff’s office.

Both drivers were arrested and booked into the Hernando County Jail.

The sheriff’s office shared photos of the cars and a warning message on Facebook after the arrests.

“Drive safe, not cinematic. Leave the racing to Hollywood,” the post read.
