Drake Cleverly Interpolates His Own ‘MAID OF HONOUR’ Track on New Karol G Collaboration ‘Ahí’

Drake wanted a G like Karolina, and now, he’s featured on one of her songs. Karol G‘s new album, No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto, dropped Friday (Aug. 7) featuring a summery collaboration with the rapper on which he cleverly calls back to one of his own MAID OF HONOUR songs.

Four tracks into the new set, “Ahí” finds the Latin music superstar and Drizzy stacking their voices over a catchy, winding refrain and trading lines about having feelings for someone who isn’t ready to enter a relationship. Toward the end of the song, he spits, “I want a Latina, I want a Latina/ I want a face just like Karolina/ And I want a waist just like Karolina … I’m not a drug dealer, my money’s way cleaner.”

The bars directly interpolate Drake’s flirty MAID OF HONOUR track “New Bestie,” which dropped in May and features a shout-out to the Colombian artist. “Yeah, I want a Latina, I want a Latina/ I want a G like Karolina,” he rhymed at the time.

“New Bestie” spent a week on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 72, while MAID OF HONOUR debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. The Nos. 1 and 2 spots above it were also occupied by the Toronto hip-hop titan that week with ICEMAN and HABIBTI, having surprised fans by unleashing all three new albums on the same day this spring.

Also featuring collaborations with Bruno Mars, Greg Gonzalez of Cigarettes After Sex and more, No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto comes a little more than a year after Karol’s last album, Tropicoqueta. The 2025 project spent two weeks at No. 1 on Top Latin Albums, a chart that she’s topped four times to date.

Drake’s inclusion on Karol’s new album is months in the making, with Charlamagne Tha God fueling rumors back in May that the latter made an appearance on ICEMAN. As it turned out, the 6 God’s shout-out on “New Bestie” was the extent of that “appearance,” but clearly, the duo found another opportunity to hop on a track together, leading to “Ahí.”

In July, Drake supported Karol by attending her concert in Toronto, at one point appearing on the Jumbotron.
