DP World Tour extends "sincere condolences" to families of the victims in Crans-Montana tragedy

The DP World Tour has shared a condolence message after a deadly incident unfolded in the Swiss resort town of Crans-Montana on New Year’s Eve. A fire broke out during the celebrations at a bar, killing around 40 people and injuring at least 115, according to Reuters.

On January 1, the tour posted on X, offering condolences to the families of the victims and support to those affected. The statement read:

“The thoughts of everyone at the DP World Tour are with our many friends in Crans Montana right now. We extend our sincere condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives and wish a speedy recovery to those injured.”

Police said the fire broke out at around 1:30 a.m. local time at Le Constellation, which was crowded at the time, as people were celebrating the new year.

Swiss President Guy Parmelin later called the incident one of the most serious tragedies in the country’s history, saying many of the victims were young. Authorities added that the cause of the fire is still under investigation, with early reports suggesting it was accidental.
