Gary Player celebrated his 90th birthday on November 1st. While Player might be aging, the South African golf legend has always impressed fans with his fitness levels. During a recent golf outing, Player once again took social media by storm and displayed impressive.

Player linked up with two-time US Open champ Bryson DeChambeau and US President Donald Trump. A video on Player's X (previously Twitter) timeline showed the veteran golfer attempting a high kick as DeChambeau kept his palm up. Gary Player showcased impressive flexibility with his high kick.

The clip showed DeChambeau in disbelief at what he had just witnessed. Praising Player's fitness, the LIV golfer expressed doubt that he will even look like half of what Player looks like when he reaches 90. A short interaction between Gary Player and DeChambeau followed:

DeChambeau: "Wow, that's pretty good. Over your head. If I can even get close to doing that at 90, if I can even look up half of that." Player: "You will. You will because you look how cute, buddy..."

Take a look at the video shared by Player on X:

Gary Player's patented high kick is a longstanding part of his legacy. Over the years, the 24-time PGA Tour winner has showcased flexibility and fitness through this move. This year's Masters featured the Black Knight as an honorary starter. After hitting his iconic swing, Player executed a flawless high kick in front of the Augusta National patrons and fans.

When Gary Player praised Donald Trump and Bryson DeChambeau's golfing skills

Player sat down for an interview with BizNews last year where he was asked about his friendship with the US President. The South African praised Trump for being 'compassionate' and a man who "values personal connections". Player further praised Trump's golfing ability and said (via BizNews):

"I've known Donald Trump for over 30 years. He's an incredibly compassionate man who deeply values personal connections. There's no president in history who comes close to his golfing ability."

Similarly, back in 2020, Gary Player complimented DeChambeau for having a "phenomenally good" golf swing. The retired golfer also labelled the two-time major champ's swing as "one of the best swings a human being could have". Player said (as quoted by Sky Sports):

"He's been more brilliant than all of them. He is a step above them all, and he has a phenomenally good golf swing. They all say he has a strange swing. It might look strange, but basically in pieces it's one of the best swings a human being could have."

Player’s praise for DeChambeau hasn’t been limited to the above-mentioned instance. When the LIV Golfer became a 2-time Major champ by winning the 2024 US Open, Player shared an image of DeChambeau and congratulated him.
