In a spirited tilt, 40-year-old Los Angeles Kings forward Corey Perry dropped the gloves against Florida Panthers' A.J. Greer during Thursday’s matchup. The altercation unfolded late in the third period at center ice.
After some initial grabbing and shoving, Perry landed a heavy right to Greer’s face. Greer responded with a series of right hooks before taking Perry down to the ice. Officials quickly intervened to separate the two.

Corey Perry scores for the Kings in defeat to Florida Panthers
On Thursday, the Florida Panthers thumped the LA Kings with a 5-2 win at Crypto.com Arena. The Panthers improved their record to 7-6-1, climbing to sixth place in the Atlantic Division.
Sam Bennett opened the scoring for the Cats, putting them ahead 1-0 at 2:06. At 9:03, Anze Kopitar tied it 1-1 for the Kings after capitalizing on the power play. Just over two minutes later, Corey Perry increased the Kings’ lead to 2-1.
With less than three minutes remaining in the period, Brad Marchand tied it 2-2 for the Cats. Sam Reinhart was the lone scorer in the second period, putting the Panthers up 3-2 at 11:45.
Anton Lundell scored a shorthanded goal at 8:41, increasing the Cats’ lead to 4-2. Marchand netted his second and the game-winner for Florida at 12:36. Marchand and Niko Mikkola accumulated two points apiece in the matchup.
The LA Kings' next game is against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday. Meanwhile, the Florida Panthers play the San Jose Sharks on Saturday.
