Dolphins sign winningest QB in college football history to contract after draft

There's only one winningest quarterback in Division I college football history.

He's the newest member of the Miami Dolphins.

His name is Mark Gronowski, and he signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent after the 2026 NFL Draft concluded.

Gronowski did the majority of his winning at the FCS level with South Dakota State.

He transferred to the Big Ten to play for Iowa in 2025 and had a solid season as well.

At this point, you might be wondering: How did the winningest QB in D-I history not get drafted?

Well, for starters, Gronowski isn't all that great at throwing the football.

He's a big, physical guy who can run and take contact and show grit and grind his way to victories.

At SDSU, he was quite prolific statistically.

At Iowa, he was more of a find a way to win kind of guy.

He's got so much experience that he could be useful in a QB room at the next level anyway.

His athleticism is impressive, too, which the Dolphins might want to see up close.

It's certainly a fascinating addition, even if it doesn't work out.
