The Miami Dolphins decided to pass on drafting Caleb Downs at No. 11, trading back one spot with the Dallas Cowboys to pick up two fifth-round picks. They then took Kadyn Proctor out of Alabama at No. 12.
Passing on Downs was a noteworthy decision, but being able to land Proctor is a very fun and much-needed pick for this Dolphins team. He plays offensive tackle, but will be their left guard in 2026.
This is a slightly risky pick, but one SEC coach, according to ESPN's Adam Rittenberg, has some high praise for Proctor, calling the new Dolphins lineman a player teams can't resist falling in love with.
How Kadyn Proctor is a can't-resist prospect
"Anybody who sees this guy work out, they're not going to be able to resist," an SEC coordinator said to Rittenberg. "Even if they wanted to, they're going to see him moving around, and they're like, 'Shoot, we've got to take this guy.'"
Proctor is a massive 6-foot-6, 352 pounds. But, beyond his large size, he's also incredibly athletic. He is a super fascinating prospect from this year's draft class.
Miami took him at No. 12, and they are banking on his athleticism being better than his production, as the Crimson Tide wasn't exactly a great team when it came to their OL last year.

They ranked 90th nationally in regards to their 2.13 sacks per game allowed, and 123rd overall with their rushing attack.
But now, with the Dolphins and playing alongside Aaron Brewer, an elite center, and Patrick Paul, a good tackle, the Dolphins should have a better environment for Proctor to succeed.
Proctor is a high-upside, low-floor pick. But that high-upside was, as this SEC coach put it, not something a team can avoid falling in love with.
There's risk, but if Proctor can continue to flash his athleticism and can slide into the Dolphins' OL nicely, then he could be an extremely exciting pick for Miami for a long time.
