The Miami Dolphins will have a very different leadership core in 2025.
They traded away Jalen Ramsey to the Steelers on Monday. Ramsey was one of the Dolphins' captains in 2024.
In fact, Miami has lost four of its captains this offseason.
Terron Armstead retired. Calais Campbell signed with the Cardinals in free agency. And the Dolphins had waived David Long Jr. near the end of last season. He's still a free agent at the moment.
This could mean nothing, just that the Dolphins have decided to get a bit younger and cheaper.
It could also be a bad sign about culture, or about who was put into leadership positions.

After a disappointing 2025, head coach Mike McDaniel will surely want a better year this time around, or things could start to get tense for the Dolphins.
They'll need good leadership this year, too. It'll have to start with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who hopefully stays healthy, but there are so many more layers to a football team than the QB, so it'll take more than Tua.
It'll be a new leadership look all the way around after all these departures.
