Mike McDaniel isn't like other NFL head coaches.
The Miami Dolphins' leader sprints off the field at halftime. He rocks some different outfits. And he also gives press conference answers you won't hear anywhere else.
That happened on Monday at Dolphins training camp.
The initial exchange went like this after McDaniel was wished a good morning:
- "Good morning? False. A great morning," McDaniel said.
- A reporter asked, "Why is it a great morning?"
- McDaniel replied: "Because we're another day closer to death."

That's one way to look at things.
Certain religious groups may think of things that way. McDaniel may have also just been going for a laugh.
Regardless of the reason, it's not something you can picture many other coaches getting up to the podium and sharing with the media.
The 42-year old McDaniel is entering his fourth season as the Dolphins' head coach. He has a 28-23 regular season record with Miami, but he has lost both playoff games he's been in.

McDaniel played college football at Yale, where he graduated with a degree in history, so he's certainly got a sharp mind.
That shows up both in his offensive direction from the sideline, and in his answers to reporters.
There are few like the 5-foot-9 McDaniel, and he probably likes it that way. It'll be tough to ever top this answer, but he probably will give it a solid try.
