Things haven't gone as planned for multiple teams in the NFL this season, but the AFC has been just as bad at the bottom as we could have ever imagined. The Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans, and Los Angeles Chargers are all 0-5, while every other team in the conference, and the entire NFC, has wins.
Saying it's surprising that the Dolphins and Titans don't have a win would be dishonest, since everyone expected both teams to struggle this year.
However, the Chargers playing this poorly is a bit of a surprise and shows that anything can happen on any given Sunday.
Teams going winless through five weeks isn't exactly common in the NFL, especially with all teams in the same conference.
According to ESPN, this is the first time in 28 years that three teams have started 0-5 and are all in the AFC.
“We haven't seen this in 28 years 😳Three teams are 0-5 this season, and they're ALL in the AFC 😱,” ESPN wrote.
The NFC also has two 5-0 teams, while the AFC has no team better than 4-0 because the Kansas City Chiefs had a bye week in Week 5.
