Duane “Dog” Chapman is mourning the loss of a beloved family member.

The Dog the Bounty Hunter star’s stepson Gregory Zecca shot and killed his 13-year-old son Anthony, per TMZ, on July 19 during an accidental shooting at their apartment in Naples, Florida.

"We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragic accident,” reps for Dog and his wife Francie Frane wrote in a statement to the outlet, “and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony."

After law enforcement responded to a call about a shooting around 8 p.m. that night, per the outlet, the shooting has been determined an “isolated incident.” While there have not been any arrests in connection to the shooting, the investigation is ongoing.

E! News has reached out to Naples Police Department as well as Dog and Francie’s reps but has not heard back.

Francie, who shares Gregory with her late husband, tied the knot with Dog in 2021 after bonding over the grief of losing both of their partners to cancer.

"For a living, she's a rancher and she recently lost her husband to cancer six months before I lost Beth Chapman so we hopped on the phone, started talking to each other, crying and consoling each other and then one thing led to another and it's just incredible that I've been able to meet someone like her," Dog shared on TMZ Live in May 2020. "With Francie, I'm allowed to speak about Beth, we speak about her husband. We cry. We hold each other."

With a supportive new partner, he found himself slowly healing and feeling like himself again.

"I am a fixer. I have to catch bad guys. I got to be at the top of my game. I can't feel sorry for myself or guilty," he continued. "I got to go out there and make a difference.  That's what I do for a living so I've got to man up. She helps me do that."

And while he assured fans that his family supported his and Francie’s romance, Dog—who is father to 13 kids—had a hunch that his late wife would give them her blessing as well.

"As far as my gene pool, I think she would approve,” he said at the time. “I didn't have ranchers in my gene pool. I don't know if Beth even knows. She's kicking around with the angels. She's all happy. I don't know if she knows."
