The Los Angeles Dodgers are 39-27, despite some key injuries. Even when they get all of their star pitchers back, they have a hole they need to fill in their offense.
Michael Conforto has made 59 appearances for the Dodgers. He is hitting .170 with just three home runs. The Dodgers seem reluctant to make Hyeseong Kim an everyday player and replace Conforto in the outfield with him. Sports Illustrated's Dylan Sanders suggested the Dodgers trade for Adolis Garcia to replace Conforto if they do not wish to play Kim there over him.
"If the Rangers do end up selling, Adolis Garcia is someone that should absolutely be moved if they can get at least a prospect of note in return," wrote Sanders. "A potential deal that would be worth doing would be with the Los Angeles Dodgers. They have a need in the outfield and a surprisingly solid farm system for how loaded their Major League roster is. In a trade involving Garcia, Texas should target LHP prospect Jakob Wright."
Garcia is hitting .215 this year. While not great, it is still better than Conforto. He will be a free agent in 2027 and the Rangers could be open to moving him. The team is 31-35 and could still make a postseason push. However, if they fall out of contention before the July 31 deadline, Garcia could get moved.
Garcia was an All-Star in 2021 and 2023. In 2023, he had a .836 OPS in the regular season, but made his mark on Rangers history in the postseason. He hit eight home runs that postseason, including a walk-off home run in Game 1 of the World Series. He has a .738 career OPS and could be an upgrade for the Dodgers. He was the American League Championship Series MVP and had a 1.108 OPS in the postseason.

"Whenever he makes contact, he can still do damage," wrote Sanders. "He has one of the highest average exit velocities in the sport and should be better than he has been. His aggressiveness at the plate has just caught up to his as his bat-to-ball skills drop. The 32-year-old has slashed .215/.259/.364 this year with seven home runs. Hoping for him to turn things around would be fine for the Dodgers who need another outfield bat."
