Dodgers sign 3.84 ERA pitcher most recently in MLB with Yankees

The Los Angeles Dodgers are determined to make sure they have enough bullpen depth this season.

A year ago, the biggest weakness for L.A. en route to a repeat World Series championship was the relief group. This year, that shouldn't be a problem.

The big signing, of course, was Edwin Diaz.

But on Friday, the Dodgers added another experienced righty reliever: Keynan Middleton.

Per the latest @BaseballAmerica Minor League transactions, the #Dodgers signed veteran reliever Keynan Middleton. Had not seen this previously reported.

Middleton was originally a third-round pick of the Los Angeles Angels in 2013 out of Lane Community College in Oregon.

He pitched four seasons for the Angels, and he has since pitched for the Mariners, Diamondbacks, White Sox and Yankees.

His 12 most recent MLB appearances came in 2023 for the Yankees with a 1.88 ERA.

In his seven-year MLB career, Middleton has a 3.84 ERA and 9.2 strikeouts per nine innings.

Middleton was in the St. Louis Cardinals' organization in 2024 but only got five games in at the Double-A level (2.25 ERA) due to injury.

In 2025, his only action around injury came in the independent Atlantic League for the Long Island Ducks. He pitched four times and didn't allow a run.

The Dodgers are surely hoping Middleton has returned to full health. If he has, he can be a solid contributor in middle relief. It's definitely a reasonable attempt at a signing by the Dodgers with Spring Training already underway.
