Dodgers make crushing Teoscar Hernandez injury announcement

The Los Angeles Dodgers entered May 6 with a 24-11 record, the best mark in MLB and just half a game ahead of the San Diego Padres.

As the Dodgers are aiming for a World Series repeat, they got some bad injury news. For a team dealing with injuries to stars such as Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow on the pitching front, the Dodgers now will be without outfielder Teoscar Hernandez for some time.

On Monday, Hernandez left the game against the Miami Marlins early with an injury. Now, he is headed to the IL.

"The Dodgers recalled OF James Outman and placed OF Teoscar Herńandez on the injury list with a left groin strain."

To make things even worse, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts gave some further updates on Hernandez, per Jack Harris of The Los Angeles Times.

Dave Roberts said Teoscar Hernández has a Grade-1 adductor strain. No timeline to return, but Roberts acknowledged he’s gonna be “inactive for a while”

Hernandez was off to a strong start in 2025, hitting .315 with nine home runs and 34 RBI, so this is a big blow to the Dodgers; lineup.

In 2024, his first year in LA, he had 33 home runs with 99 RBI and a .272 average while playing 154 regular season games, so he was also a reliable presence in the lineup.

Now, he is out "for a while," and it remains to be seen if the Dodgers will explore the trade market or just weather the storm with some other options.
