The Los Angeles Dodgers were swept by the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLCS. Trying to win a third consecutive World Series title, the Dodgers came up well short with a brutal series loss to the Brewers.

While losing 4-0 in this NLCS is bad enough, there is one statistic that makes this heartbreaking streak sting a lot more than it already does.

Jayson Stark of The Athletic shared how the Dodgers' series loss to the Brewers came after holding leads in all four games, making it the first time since the 2015 New York Mets that a team has lost a series in which they held a lead in all four losses.

Dodgers lose NLCS with four blown leads to make MLB history

"Fun fact: The last team to blow a lead in all 4 losses of a postseason was the 205 Mets (against the Royals)," Stark shared.

The 2015 Mets, in the World Series, had a lead in all four of the games they lost to the Kansas City Royals. But the Mets, unlike the Dodgers, did actually get a win in that series.

Los Angeles, on the other hand, not only blew a lead in every game; they didn't even secure one win, getting swept by the Brewers.

In Game 1, Andy Pages hit a single to take a 1-0 lead in the 2nd inning. But a Brice Turang homer and later a Luis Lara single handed the Dodgers the Game 1 loss.

In Game 2, the Dodgers got out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning before the Brewers tied it up in the bottom of the first. Then they took the lead in the third, before the Brewers tacked on two to make it 3-2 Brewers.

The Dodgers answered with two runs of their own in the fifth inning, but the Brewers tied it back up in the bottom half of that inning, later taking the lead in the sixth, and never allowing the Dodgers back in it.

Game 3 saw the Brewers get out to a 1-0 lead, but Will Smith's double got the Dodgers in front 2-1 in the sixth inning. Unfortunately, a Jake Bauers homer and Garrett Mitchell HR put the Brewers back in front, and L.A. didn't score again.

Finally, in Game 4,  the Dodgers got out to a 4-0 lead in the second inning, but failed to score the rest of the game again, and watched as the Brewers chipped away at the lead before eventually taking it in the sixth on another Mitchell homer.

When it was all said and done, the Dodgers blew a lead in every game of the NLCS, losing the series 4-0, making MLB history not seen since the 2015 Mets in the World Series.
