The Los Angeles Dodgers' starting rotation has been dealing with injuries this season. They could be aggressive at the deadline and add an ace-caliber arm.
Tyler Glasnow, Blake Snell and Rōki Sasaki are on the injured list, and Shohei Ohtani is still working his way back to being a starter. The Dodgers could use an extra arm in case the returns of their injured starters are delayed, and Yahoo Sports MLB insider Russell Dorsey linked the Dodgers to a trade for Atlanta Braves ace Chris Sale.
"Coming off his first season in Atlanta, which saw him win the 2024 NL Cy Young Award, Sale has followed with another strong performance for the Braves," wrote Dorsey. "Now 36, Sale is 4-4 with a 2.79 ERA and tied for fifth in MLB in strikeouts. And while the eight-time All-Star is likely in the twilight of his career, he’s proving every fifth day that he’s still one of the best starters in baseball.
"If the Braves were open to trading him, Sale would easily be the best starting pitcher available this summer, and every contender would and should be in on him."
Sale has a $18 million club option for next season, and would instantly make the Dodgers' rotation even more dangerous. Snell and Glasnow are working their way back, but the timetable for Sasaki is more uncertain.

If the Dodgers add an eight-time All-Star like Sale, they may be okay with shutting Sasaki down and letting him heal properly with no rush. Sale, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow, Shohei Ohtani and Clayton Kershaw would be a rotation that could dominate in October.
