Dodgers, Giants have each won 1,290 games in all-time series

The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants have been playing against one another for a long time.

Of course, it pre-dates their time in California. They were rivals in New York City first.

These days, they're NL West foes, with the Dodgers having the leg up more often than not.

But as they prepare to play their first regular season series of the season, there's one astounding stat.

They've each won exactly 1,290 games in the all-time series.

The Giants hold the regular season advantage 1288-1287.

The Dodgers hold the playoff advantage 3-2.

So that's 1290-1290.

They have also tied 17 times way back in the day.

It's crazy, though, that it's this close. That's a lot of baseball games. And somehow, these rivals are all square.

Sports can be absolutely inexplicable sometimes, especially baseball. What an incredible game.
