There has been a ton of interest in Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz’s dating life, largely because he has been so private about any personal romances.
There were rumors that Alcaraz (who was seen on a boat in Italy with Claudia Canals on Tuesday) was dating famous DJ Peggy Gou earlier this year, after Gou was seen sitting in Alcaraz’s player box at the 2026 Australian Open.
But Gou asserted that the two were merely friends afterwards, which put an end to the romance speculation. However, there are new rumors that Gou is dating another tennis star: Italian standout Matteo Berrettini.
The 35-year-old Gou and the 30-year-old Berrettini (who is the No. 42-ranked player in the world, according to the ATP) were seen in each other’s company at one of Gou’s recent sets. Several photos of Berrettini dancing alongside Gou have surfaced on social media, with tennis fans taking this as proof that the two are dating.
These dating rumors are fresh, and neither side has had any chance to comment or confirm them at this point. What’s for sure is that Berrettini is known for his good looks, as is Gou.
Alcaraz and Berrettini have faced each other four times as professionals, with Alcaraz holding a 3-1 advantage in these matchups. They last faced each other in the Round of 16 at Wimbledon in 2023, which Alcaraz won in four sets.
Alcaraz has been sidelined for the past several months as he works his way back from a wrist injury. The hope is that he’ll return in the relatively near future.
And when he does, any potential matchup against Berrettini will bring added intrigue, if only to see whether Gou is in either of their player boxes.
