The Pittsburgh Steelers picked up their eighth win of the 2024 campaign on Sunday, defeating the Baltimore Ravens by a score of 18-16 at home. Mike Tomlin's squad is 8-2 and atop the AFC North through 11 weeks and will travel to Huntington Bank Field to square off against the Cleveland Browns in Week 12.
Though Pittsburgh's offense didn't score a touchdown on Sunday and struggled to sustain drives, star wide receiver George Pickens still had a productive day, snagging eight receptions for 89 yards on 12 targets. Pickens has established himself as one of the most electric young receivers in football and has built a nice connection with quarterback Russell Wilson.
Pickens had a fantastic afternoon, but the same can't be said for former Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson. The 2019 third-round pick has been a nonfactor in Baltimore's offense since being traded to the Ravens from the Carolina Panthers on October 29th. Johnson garnered just two targets on Sunday and didn't record a single reception.
With Johnson struggling against his former team in Week 11 and failing to fit in with his new squad, fans on X had a ton of fun roasting the 28-year-old for his nothing burger versus the Steelers.
One of these two had 8 catches for 89 yards and the other one had zero catches. #Steelers #NFL pic.twitter.com/ITLg6nkIZ0

0 catches

Diontae Johnson was a non-factor, as usual. So glad The Steelers were able to trade him when they did, especially for Donte Jackson #HereWeGo

— R3lic 8 - 2 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 (@R3licX) November 17, 2024Things we learned today:
1. Lamar is still a fraud and his MVP case should be done.
2. Diontae Johnson not good.
3. Justin Tucker lol.
4. Steelers have the best defense in the league.
5. Steelers can beat anyone.
Bonus: Still own the Ravens. #HereWeGo
Johnson was a highly productive player for Pittsburgh from 2019-2023, posting four seasons with over 700 receiving yards, including a 1,161-yard campaign in 2021, earning a Pro Bowl nod. General manager Omar Khan traded Johnson to the Carolina Panthers for cornerback Donte Jackson last offseason.
After seven uninspiring games with the Panthers, Johnson was traded to the Ravens but hasn't been able to build chemistry with quarterback Lamar Jackson and has just one catch in three games with the Ravens.
We'll see if Johnson and the Ravens can get back on track in Week 12, as the team will travel to SoFi Stadium to face off against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football.
