Dillon Brooks reveals that Russell Westbrook's play style is hard for most coaches

With reports that Russell Westbrook is not set to return to the Sacramento Kings, he is a free agent looking for a team. He has always been an effective player dating back to his Oklahoma City Thunder days, but he has played all over the league now, and some teams might not be big fans of what they have seen.

Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks has given his take on why Westbrook is now struggling to find a team on a recent stream with influencer N3ON. It is unfortunate, but it seems there is some truth to what he is saying about the former MVP.

Dillon Brooks speaks about the potential issue Russell Westbrook is facing in free agency

For a long time, people saw Westbrook as one of the league's best players. His athleticism was top-notch, but his willingness to compete at the highest level made him such a tough opponent to play against. Teams always had him at the top of scouting reports because of how impactful he was on the court.

He was once the MVP of the league, so that reputation goes a long way. In the past few years, he has moved to become a role player who plays with an insane amount of energy. That was most evident during his time with the Denver Nuggets, but it seems he has been a puzzle for the coaches he has played for.

As a fellow role player, it seems Brooks is more aware of how to play for certain coaches. He has been around the league himself, and despite some of his antics, he does know his role and how to adapt to the systems he has played for on the Houston Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies, and now, the Suns.

"He's willing to play; he's not like one of those superstars who's like 'I'm not playing.' He's shown that he wants to win... His play style is so different. It’s hard to coach. He needs the ball. He has to have the ball in his hands," Brooks said about Westbrook not being appealing to many coaches.

While Westbrook himself has shown that he can play for any coach and system, there is a preconceived notion about him. Unfortunately, this could lead him to not play for a team, but it seems Westbrook is getting some attention around the league, including a reunion with the Rockets and Kevin Durant.
