DiJonai Carrington fueled breakup rumors with NaLyssa Smith after a cryptic post on her social media. The rumor picked up after the Las Vegas Aces player unfollowed Carrington on Instagram.

On Saturday, Carrington made a quote post on her Instagram Story. The Minnesota Lynx player reposted a post from "thewritersaying" that seemingly confirmed the breakup rumor.

"I've always been afraid of losing people I love. Sometimes I wonder, is there anyone out there afraid to lose me," the post read.

Carrington and Smith have been dating since they were at Baylor in 2020-21. They continued their romance at the WABA. However, it hasn't come without difficulties. Last year, the couple went through a brief breakup before they got back together.

Shortly after they got back together, both Smith and DiJonai Carrington's pregame pictures hinted at their engagement. Carrington, who was then with the Connecticut Sun, flashed her engagement ring when she arrived in her pink outfit.

It was only last month that the social media post from the couple yet again hinted at their engagement. When Caarrington celebrated Smith's birthday earlier this year, a video post from the former showed Smith constantly touching the ring on her ring finger.

Everything seemed to be going fine between DiJonai Carrington and NaLyssa Smith since the time they got back together last year. They played together with the Dallas Wing before Carrington was traded to the Lynx, and Smith to the Aces.

While Carrington's Lynx were favorites to win the title in the 2025 WNBA season, Smith and the Aces ended up winning the title. Carrington came forward, showering love on her girlfriend after Smith won her first WNBA title.

"My baby is a WNBA champion 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I’m so so freaking proud of you!!!!! You were the turning point of the season @NaLyssaSmith!!!! I love you beyond words!" Carrington wrote on X.

NaLyssa Smith played a crucial role in the Aces' title win. Aces coach Becky Hammon was able to extract the most production from her forward player on both ends of the floor. The former Baylor player expressed her excitement to return to the gym for her next season.

Carrington and Smith are the WNBA's hottest couple and perhaps the fan-favorite. Their relationship has previously been a big conversation among fans and perhaps it won't be any different this time.
