Did PSG really make an offer for Barcelona's Lamine Yamal last season?

Barcelona sporting director Deco has confirmed PSG approached the club over teenage phenom Lamine Yamal in 2024—but no official bid was submitted.

Speaking at a press briefing on Thursday (May 2025), Deco stated, “Last season, some people asked questions about Lamine. PSG asked questions about him. Madrid did not.” according to RMC Sport, end months of speculation following reports that PSG were prepared to pay €250 million [$282M] for the winger.

The figure had been previously floated by Barcelona president Joan Laporta. French media, including L'Equipe, had denied PSG’s interest at the time.
Yamal, who turned 17 during EURO 2024, was already a historic name by the last year.

He created several records; he became the youngest scorer for both Barcelona and Spain.

He also starred in all seven games of Spain’s EURO 2024 run, recording one goal and four assists, becoming the youngest ever to play in a EURO final, surpassing Renato Sanches.

Yamal is contracted with Barcelona until 2026 and is reported to have a five-year extension expected soon.

Is Lamine Yamal move to PSG possible?

While the rumors linking Lamine Yamal to Paris Saint-Germain continue to swirl, the possibility of a transfer remains highly unlikely.

Despite some reports suggesting PSG have tabled a record-breaking offer last year,  both Barcelona and the player have made their stance clear.

Yamal, has consistently voiced his loyalty: "I don't hear about it," he told Mundo Deportivo regarding transfer speculation. "Firstly, and above all, because I have a contract and then because I think it's impossible that I would go to another club."
