Cassie Wilson, a key influencer associated with New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, is known for her witty videos. On Christmas Eve, the comedian posted a video of a family dinner that quickly became awkward. In the clip, the clatter of plates could be heard as Cassie Wilson drank water. Out of nowhere, the influencer said, "We should probably kill all the billionaires, right?"

Wilson immediately received an objection from her family over the joke. In the text overlay of the video, the influencer wondered:

"Did I ruin family dinner?"

Wilson is known for producing satirical content. She played an instrumental role in Zohran Mamdani's election campaign. Cassie Wilson, along with the new NYC mayor-elect, posted many videos loaded with satire and levity to reach out to voters. Wilson also posted several other videos in collaboration with other influencers to push Mamdani's cause.

After Mamdani secured his election victory on November 4, Cassie Wilson was invited on CNN to discuss his social media campaign. On November 6, Wilson shared a clip of her interview on her YouTube channel. During the conversation, the news host attributed Mamdani's victory to "mastery of his social media" and his collaboration with other influencers.

The host played a video of Wilson and remarked that those videos "worked." The host asked the comedian what set Zohran Mamdani’s campaign apart. The influencer responded:

"I think the campaign was really all about the policies from the start, the policies that champion the working class, that will benefit the working class. And there's already this kind of organic community of influencers in New York City who want to be politically engaged... He seemed to be everywhere and so, you know, engaging online was just another place where he could meet his voters and meet his constituents."

Later in the aforementioned interview, the CNN host noted that young voters were not known for stepping out and casting their vote, and commended the youth mandate to the new Mayor of NYC. She asked Cassie Wilson about the new voters' support for Zohran Mamdani.

"I think you're right that I haven't seen this level of organization of mobilization of canvassers, organizers, and voters in my generation, kind of ever. And so I think really how the way that we used social media, the best way we used it was to actually get people off of social media and to canvass and to get knocking on doors and talking to their neighbors and their community about the campaign," Cassie Wilson responded.

Later in the interview, the broadcaster asked Wilson how Zohran Mamdani would fulfill his commitments, given the breadth of his promises. The social media influencer replied that it would not be easy, but added that Mamdani was the only Democratic leader who touched on affordability.

"So, you know, he has the full support of the New York City community behind him, not just the influencer community, but everybody who voted for him," she added.

Zohran Mamdani is set to take the oath of office as New York City’s new mayor on January 1.
