Playing in a division like the National League West, the Arizona Diamondbacks have to be at their best all season long. Fortunately for the fans, the team has played relatively solid baseball all season long.
They have gotten some solid pitching from guys like Eduardo Rodriguez, Michael Soroka, and Paul Sewald, while the bullpen has looked the part this year.
Offensively, they are getting a lot out of their top five in the batting lineup while the rest of the lineup is doing just enough to keep the team afloat.

Diamondbacks slip in the rankings ahead of a brutal road stretch
Arizona had a big test last week. They faced off against their division-leading rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers, in a four-game series. They ended up splitting the series and moving on to a weekend series against the Washington Nationals.
Unfortunately, they would lose the series 1-2, making for a 3-3 week. With this and the big road trip they will go on this month, Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter has dropped them a few spots in his latest power rankings to No. 16.
"The trio of Eduardo Rodriguez, Michael Soroka and Paul Sewald deserves a ton of credit for unexpectedly anchoring the D-backs staff. They will play 13 of their next 19 games on the road, where they are 13-17 with a minus-15 run differential so far this year."
The D-backs have quite the road trip this month, but it's not all too bad. They have series against some struggling teams, like the Los Angeles Angels or the Minnesota Twins, that they should be able to take advantage of.
They just need to stay afloat this month and keep themselves in the thick of things in the standings. While the Dodgers have a 7.5-game lead in the division, the San Diego Padres are right on Arizona's heels as both teams go into Tuesday with a 34-31 record.
