Nobody has ever done this in an entire MLB career.

Arizona Diamondbacks superstar Corbin Carroll just did it in one season by the end of July.

The accomplishment box was checked off when Carroll hit two triples on Saturday night.

It set up this record, shared by OptaStats:

In MLB history, only one player has had, over the course of his entire career (same season or not),

a season with 4 multi-homer games
a season with 3 multi-triple games

That one player is the @Dbacks' Corbin Carroll. He did both in the same year before the end of July. pic.twitter.com/0QGQAM3UdE

Carroll has even missed time this season with injury.

It seems like it should be impossible to do what he has done.

But apparently when Carroll's swing gets in a certain groove, it really gets there. Some nights, he's a home run hitter. Other nights, he's a triples hitter.

And on all those nights, it turns out, Carroll was making history.
