Dexter: Resurrection is about to get hot — and violent. Episode 5 of the series (titled “Murder Horny”) premieres on Paramount+ Premium tomorrow (Aug. 1), and a new exclusive clip from the episode shows us that it certainly lives up to its title.
Remember Mia (Krysten Ritter) from Episode 4, the sommelier/serial killer Dexter (Michael C. Hall) met at an elite serial killer dinner party while disguised as Red, the murderer he killed? Well, she’s back, and the clip begins with her and Dexter exiting a bar, about to say their goodbyes from what looks to be a hot date. Before the two go their separate ways, Mia suggests that they check out a new wine bar later that night. Dexter agrees, keeping it cool and nonchalant, but as Mia hesitates, it’s obvious that date night is not the only thing on her mind. Dialing up the flirt meter, she asks Dexter if he’s ever considered a “menage et trois.”
Dexter is confused — misinterpreting her words as another kind of proposition, he asks “Shouldn’t it just be the two of us, at least for the first time?” Mia states that she meant “on the job.” Seeing that Dexter still isn’t getting it, Mia clarifies further that she is asking to collaborate with him on his next murder. She also calls him “Red,” making it clear that Dexter has not yet told her his true identity.
Dexter is at a loss for words at Mia’s request. We see all of his emotions written on his face: shock, a little fear, and more than a little excitement. Mia touches Dexter’s chest and tells him to think about it. “It could be fun,” she says. Then she walks off, leaving Dexter breathless and wanting more. Who knew murder could be that sexy?
