During his time with the Houston Rockets, Jalen Green was mostly seen as a pure scorer. He had some good assist numbers, but his reputation was always as a player who was focused on scoring.

In his first season with the Phoenix Suns, Green did have many assists per game at 2.8. However, it seems things have changed during the offseason because his co-star Devin Booker is pleased to see Green's growth as a playmaker.

Devin Booker loves Jalen Green's playmaking development

Since Booker and Green are playing in the same backcourt, they share primary ball-handling duties. At the same time, they are both natural shooting guards, but they will have to play together as co-stars.

Of course, Booker has previous experience as the Suns' lead guard, so he will probably take up that role most of the time. However, it seems that the Suns' players and coaches can trust Green now with playmaking duties.

Booker has loved what he has seen from Green, which is why he made sure to point out how the Suns' approach has changed a bit. With Green growing as a playmaker, the Suns' offense might be tougher to defend.

"The game is positionless now. I even talked about what the addition of Miles, another person that can make plays.  think everybody on the court needs to be able to have those abilities. Frees up everybody," Booker said after a training camp day.

"Makes it a free-flow offense. You learn with experience. You learn by being thrown in the fire, being trusted with those responsibilities, and we’ve been seeing it in camp already with them. It’s been good."

Suns head coach Jordan Ott will be in charge of how they will distribute the playmaking duties. Booker is likely taking a big chunk of that, but he knows that Green will be ready to contribute as a lead guard.
