Deuce McBride realized nobody could stop the Knicks during the series against the Hawks

During the 2026 Playoffs, the New York Knicks went on a magical run all the way to winning the championship. It all started with the first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks, when they were tested the most. However, it seems that the Knicks players treated that series as a big lesson.

As an important rotation player, Miles "Deuce" McBride knows how much momentum matters for his team. Considering that the Knicks struggled early on during the series against the Hawks, turning that around was a big part of their success.

Deuce McBride admits the Knicks had a confidence boost vs the Hawks 

CJ McCollum was playing at a high level during the first-round series against the Knicks, which was enough for him to become the biggest opponent for the fans. Fortunately for the Knicks, they managed to swing the momentum in their favor with the 114-98 win in Game 4. 

They never turned back, as they won 126-97 in Game 5 and finished the series off with a 140-89 victory in Game 6. After that win, they only lost one more game, which was during the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs. It was a magical run that is on par with some of the best teams of all time.

When looking at the entirety of the 2025-26 season, the Knicks had a special postseason run. It was one of the most impressive runs because they were struggling in the regular season, and they looked rattled after Game 3 of the first-round series against Atlanta. Considering they only lost one game after that shows the special impact of coach Mike Brown.

"Honestly, when we came back from Atlanta, I was like, 'I don't think there's anybody that can stop us.' I mean that 50-point dub, I'm like, 'This team looks crazy.' Another thing is, like you said, everybody thought the world was ending during the mid-season," McBride said on the This Crew Has It podcast.

It was a special run that will live on for a long time. The Knicks ending their 52-year championship drought was a big deal, and that is due to the magical postseason run that won't be replicated for a long time.
