‘Desperate Housewives’ star Teri Hatcher set for huge new theater role: sources

There’s buzz on Broadway that Teri Hatcher will step into the role of Miranda Priestly in London’s “The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical,” stage sources say.

While Meryl Streep returned as Priestly for “The Devil Wears Prada,” movie sequel this year, Vanessa Williams has been playing the fictional Runway editrix in London since 2024.

With tunes by Elton John, the musical version of the hit movie has been the fastest‑selling show in Dominion Theatre history, and recently said it would extend, again, till September 25, 2027. But Williams will step down in a few weeks after September 19.

We’re hearing buzz that “Desperate Housewives” and “Lois & Clark” star Hatcher will next play Priestly in the West End show, though the new cast has yet to be announced.

There has been speculation the show will come to Broadway. 

Hatcher has starred in tours of “Cabaret” as well as “The Addams Family!” musical. 

Reps for Hatcher and the musical did not immediately get back to us.
