Derrick Henry is being handsomely rewarded following an explosive first season with the Ravens.

The five-time Pro Bowl running back has agreed to a two-year, $30 million extension with Baltimore that includes $25 million guaranteed, according to reports on Wednesday.

“@Ravens I’m appreciative & grateful for everyone apart of this great organization & a BIG S/O to all my teammates to be able to make this possible,” Henry, 31, posted Wednesday afternoon on X. “Thank you Flock Nation for always supporting. Working as hard I can to be able to contribute to us holding up that trophy when it’s all said & done.”

The extension surpasses the deal Henry originally agreed to during the 2024 offseason, a two-year, $16 million pact that included $9 million guaranteed, and makes him the recipient of the richest contract awarded to a running back over the age of 30.

In a union that prospered from the get-go, Henry rushed for 1,921 yards in 17 regular-season games and scored 16 touchdowns. He also added two scores through the air.

The Ravens finished the year at 12-5.

They came up short of a Super Bowl berth, falling to the Bills in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. Henry rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown in the crushing 27-25 defeat.

Despite the heartbreaking end to the season, Ravens brass was more than pleased with what they received from Henry.

“He was just a perfect player for us last year. [He was] the right addition, and he brought a lot to the table on the field and also off the field with intangible qualities. We’re blessed to have him, and I would expect his successes last year to continue this year,” Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said after the season, according to the team’s website.

The 2024 season marked Henry’s third straight year of eclipsing 1,000 rushing yards.

He was nominated for Offensive Player of the Year, an honor he received in 2020, but lost to Eagles running back Saquon Barkley.

A second-round pick by the Titans in 2016, Henry spent the first eight seasons of his career in Tennessee, where he earned First-Team All-Pro honors in 2020.

It remains to be seen who Henry and the Ravens, led by two-time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson, will open the season against in September. The scheduled drops Wednesday night.
