Denver Broncos should keep tabs on these 4 players prior to NFL trade deadline

The Denver Broncos are coming off their biggest win in years, defeating the Philadelphia Eagles on the road last Sunday. Now headed in the right direction, the team is hoping to build upon its resume as a contender this season. 

The NFL trade deadline is scheduled for Tuesday, November 4, this year and between now and then, teams will need to decide if they want to buy, sell or stand pat. The Broncos have holes at two very key positions and should consider making a move at one or both of those, not just for the rest of this season, but for the near future as well. 

The Broncos could use another wide receiver to complement Courtland Sutton in the passing game. Troy Franklin and Marvin Mims Jr. are good options, but both have been inconsistent. 

At inside linebacker, the Broncos have dealt with an injury that has kept Dre Greenlaw on the sidelines all season and Alex Singleton has had his struggles after missing most of last season with a torn ACL. There are options out there who are playing for teams that are struggling and the Broncos should take a look. 

Denver Broncos trade deadline options 

Rashid Shaheed, WR, New Orleans Saints

The Saints don't seem to be going anywhere this season, and they are going to receive calls from many teams for players who might be able to come in and help them contend. 

Rashid Shaheed would not give the Broncos the type of consistent receiver they need in the passing game; he would fit more in line with what Franklin and Mims have brought the team, but he might be the best deep threat in the entire league. 

Jermaine Burton, WR, Cincinnati Bengals

If the Broncos were to trade for Jermaine Burton, they shouldn't send anything more than a sixth-round pick. But if the Bengals are tired of him, they might just take that. 

Often a healthy scratch for the Bengals, the talent is unquestionable. But many Bengals fans don't feel he cares much about playing football. Perhaps Sean Payton, in a new atmosphere, could help change that and bring the best out of him. 

A third-round pick last year, Burton caught 14 passes as a rookie. He's yet to play in a single game this year. 

Demario Davis, LB, New Orleans Saints

This would be an ideal move for the Broncos, even if Demario Davis is 36 years old. He played for Payton in New Orleans, so the head coach is familiar with his energetic, full-effort style of play. He has over 1,400 career tackles and still offers something in pass coverage. 

If the Broncos traded for Davis and got a healthy Greenlaw back, the defense would look entirely different and become even better. 

Owen Pappoe, LB, Arizona Cardinals

This would be a move that would be similar to trading for Burton, where the Broncos would be banking on the potential upside. The Cardinals have used Owen Pappoe sparingly since selecting him in the fifth round out of Auburn in 2023. In college, he was a solid linebacker who offered something in the pass-rush department as well. 

The Broncos could bring him aboard and have him help out on special teams but also get some snaps on defense to spell Singleton here and there. The team just needs better depth than Garrett Wallow and more experience than Karene Reid.
