The Broncos are working to build a contender in the Mile High City, and they're doing so while relying heavily on homegrown talent.
Year 2 of the Sean Payton era saw Denver snap a nine-year postseason drought with several of its former draft picks leading the way. The Broncos enjoyed a breakout rookie campaign from QB Bo Nix and saw 2021 first-round pick Patrick Surtain II reaffirm his superstar status at the cornerback position.
As Denver looks to build upon its 10-win season, it will look to continue the encouraging trend of adding impactful players through the draft. The Broncos have three picks in the top 100 and a few important needs to address this year.

Broncos NFL Draft needs
- Running back: The RB room in Denver was solid enough to get the job done in 2024, but it did, admittedly, leave more to be desired. The Broncos now need a replacement for Javonte Williams, who was the team's leading rusher with 513 yards on the ground. Denver can get value at the RB position at some point in the draft, but it would benefit greatly from a solid option to get even more on the ground in a season.
- Defensive line: Depth is paramount on defense, and the Broncos could use depth on the defensive line, specifically on the interior. To keep up with the best of the best in the AFC, Denver will need playmakers on defense, and it can find one by prioritizing defense in the draft's earlier stages.
- Linebacker: More defensive depth never hurt anyone, and linebacker is another area that the Broncos would benefit from. The LB corps is shaping up to be much improved from 2024, and it would be massive to draft a young linebacker to bolster a unit now headlined by Nik Bonitto and the recently signed Dre Greenlaw.
