Dems double-down on a playbook they KNOW the voters hate headed into the midterms

Wow: The Democrats who won November’s three big US elections are going for the full Joe Biden playbook — a terrible signal to send for this year’s midterms.

Even the “moderates” are making Trump-bashing the crux of their “platforms” as they pander to the hard left on energy, immigration enforcement and even the economy.

Start with New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill. The supposed “moderate” she took office Tuesday by calling President Donald Trump a tyrant and a lawbreaker.

“Our Declaration denounced tyranny,” she huffed, and Jerseyans “recognize the parallels”; Trump is “illegally usurping power.”

She turned reality on its head to slam federal law enforcers and cover up for anti-ICE goons, claiming on ABC that protesters “have been peaceful, but ICE hasn’t been.”

She theatrically interrupted her inaugural speech to sign two orders to supposedly control energy costs — though one just shifts costs from ratepayers to taxpayers, while the other triples down on the “green power” pursuits that send electric bills soaring in the first place.

Meanwhile, the first act of Virginia’s new gov, Abigail Spanberger, another victorious “moderate,” was to scrap her predecessor’s order for state and local officials to work with ICE; her Democratic colleagues in the legislature got busy passing a long list of tax hikes — with savage gerrymandering and soft-on-crime “justice reform” underway as well.

November’s other big winner, our own Mayor Zohran Mamdani, was proud to run as an extremist — and he’s living up to it, as his appointees, one after another, seem to harbor radical, racist and/or hard-line socialist views.

And he’s already hard at work pursuing his uber-leftist dreams: tax hikes, rent freezes that will (intentionally?) bankrupt landlords and more.

Meanwhile, House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries just led his troops in voting against the bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security and ICE because it didn’t hamstring agents’ ability to nab illegal immigrants.

Here in New York, House candidate Micah Lasher went even further, tweeting: “Under no circumstances should Democrats support a bill that gives MORE money to ICE and DHS.” Under no circumstances?

Voters may also notice that Dems forced a record-long government shutdown in a futile bid to extend COVID-era Obamacare subsidies, but none of the disasters they predicted have come to pass: Enrollments are holding up just fine.

On Tuesday, socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders claimed the wins by Sherrill, Spanberger and Mamdani are strong signs Dems will triumph in the midterms and called for a “fundamental economic transformation.”

If the Dems keep on that path, Republicans can start feeling a lot better about their chances this November.
