It looks like higher New York state courts won’t undo the outrageous decision by a partisan trial-court judge to order a last-minute redistricting designed to hand Rep. Nicole Malliotakis’ seat to a Democrat this fall — signaling that the rule of law now goes completely out the window in the Empire State whenever Democrats want.

It’s hard to think of a worse signal to send to a business community already straining under obscene taxes and regulations, among other needlessly high costs.

Malliotakis (R-SI) has a good chance of being rescued by a US Supreme Court slapdown, since the court’s ruling invokes twisted racial “logic” of a kind the justices have recently frowned upon.

That is: The judge ordered a redraw of the district to favor a Democrat on the grounds that anything else disenfranchises black and Hispanic voters — though the new district won’t have any more minorities, but only more Dem-leaning whites.

More outrageous still, the existing district has elected a Latino congresswoman: Malliotakis is Cuban on her mom’s side.

How in hell does that violate the state Constitution’s prohibition on drawing districts that harm minority voting rights, as the judge ruled?

Plus: The district was passed into law by the state’s Independent Redistricting Commission, the Democrat-controlled state Legislature and Gov. Kathy Hochul in 2024: Were they all conspiring to suppress minority voting rights?

The Democrats who run the Legislature have completely cowed the state’s courts into rubber-stamping the most outrageous injustices, as long as it serves the majority party’s interests.

And Hochul sits silent, because party loyalty trumps all for her, too.

You’d have to be crazy to open a new business in a state where rank politics trumps justice this way.

The best hope to limit the damage is for the Supremes to slap down this ruling ASAP, but the corruption of New York’s courts will still remain visible for all to see.

Lady Justice is no longer blind in the Empire State: She’s a slave of the Democratic Party.
